Thanks for the list. By the way, can anyone give me a brief up on the field of marketing consultancy. In this list there are a few like MarketGate. But how many are niche players in marketing consultancy. Plus, what could be the market size of only marketing consultancy (as against business consultancy where marketing consultancy may be included) in India.

This is a very useful list. Thanks for creating it.

I have to say though, that I find it bizarre that a firm like Frost & Sullivan is using this type of forum to slag off the competition (Raj Kapoor posting). 2009 must have been a very bad year for Frost & Sullivan if they are having to resort to bad-mouthing their competitors. Very unprofessional and I wonder if their Chairman endorses this type of posting?

Where I come from, respectable consultants focus on their own strengths and avoid bad-mouthing individuals and groups. But, perhaps my ethical standards are old fashioned?

Your India list should include http://www.frost.com which has a large presence in India and is a lot better than Synovate Business Consulting in terms of workforce, ethics and India credentials.

Jack Ma is not correct, at least in terms of Thailand. Synovate Business Consulting does exist in Thailand and my company has used them for the past two years for several assignments. They are definitely still operating in Thailand and have offices at Sethiwan Tower in Silom. They have a Thai team led by an expat.

Either Jack Ma is completely wrong about Synovate Business Consulting in Thailand or I have been the victim of one of the most elaborate and bizarre hoaxes when I visited their office last month. Goes to show the power of the internet where people can post stuff that is simply not true!

My information is from the Synovate Business Consulting website, it must be outdated … I guess if they’re going out of business they have bigger things to worry about than updating their website.

Your information regarding Synovate Business Consulting is a bit outdated. Synovate Business Consulting has closed down its offices in Seoul, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Taiwan. In other locations Synovate Business Consulting has ailing offices probably waiting to close down.
